this is a harry reid-mitch mcconnell discussion right now. republicans have passed a bill to sequester bills. true an untruth. that was last year before the 113th congress. those bills are no longer legally liable. they are meaningless. they will have to pass meaningful bills. host: where was john hogan when g.w.b. was running all of that debt and deficit? caller: good morning. president obama wants to raise the taxes on the corporate jet owners and the oil company subsidies and things like that. of that will come back onto the middle class. we will have $5 or $6 a gallon gasoline. he cannot force people at the oil companies to take because he was then to take. if they do that to be sequestered, we will not have any cuts at all. he just wants to pass it on to us. it is similar to what happens in the space when they run into a fiscal problem. they always complain we will lose firemen and policemen and you will not have the streets plowed. that is the excuse they use. obama is using the excuse is that the poor will not have any money to cut thi

what is wrong with harry reid that he could not get along with a house and set up a budget for them so you could go to congress and have a budget? i cannot believe after four years there has not been one. guest: it is really surprising. congressman jim cooper wrote a piece of legislation, no budget, no pay. it required the congress to pass a budget resolution. the set and house agreed on it and did the appropriation bills on time. it the senate did not do that, they would have to give up their pay until the work got done it. -- if the that it did not do that, they would have to give up their pay until the work got done. i was a sponsor of that bill. within minutes of having that legislation passed, harry reid came to the podium and said this year the senate will pass a budget. it is a critical step forward. at this point we will be able to see what a separate report -- priorities are, and hopefully we will be able to pull those documents together and have this country work on a budget for work, work with inside the budget framework so we can control the rampant growth of government. >h
